Ageing: 18 months in oak barrels (70% new)
The colour is a deep, dark purple, a richly aromatic full bodied wine, on the palate, lush, rich red and black fruit flavours with hints of vanilla and spices, showing great freshness. Superb velvety tannins, very well balanced, with a long flavourful finish, a truly exceptional vintage.
They comprise an area of 19 hectares, superbly sited on the edge of a limestone plateau, where the soils are rich in clay, limestone and iron. It is worth noting that Michel Rolland is the chateau’s consultant.
The property is located north-west of the town of St-Emilion. A handsome château built in 1767 and since 1934 has been owned and run by the Nony family - Jean-Pierre Nony has been at the helm since 1975.Château Grand-Mayne - Official Website
